Every year on April 6th, the International Day for Sport Development and Peace is celebrated worldwide.
Sport “changes” lives.
TIJ believes that sport is a tool that can help protect children and young people from committing criminal activities. Not only does sport promote rights for the development of children and youth both physically and mentally, but it also plays an important role in encouraging cognitive development and positive behavioral changes.
Therefore, on this International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, TIJ wishes to support the societal reintegration of children and youth who have committed past mistakes by employing sport as the tool that can turn crisis into opportunities here and beyond.
